Those who believed in all the January Windows Phone 7 update rumors or even the WP7 Verizon devices announcement are probably going to be disappointed. Like I said many times regarding this subject (see related post links below): don’t believe everything your read. The plans has always been to announce and push the first updates “around” February’s MWC. As a matter of fact here’s the only thing that Steve Ballmer said about this during his CES Keynote:
Microsoft will release a series of Windows Phone 7 updates over the next few months, including adding the copy-and-paste feature and improving the phone’s performance when loading or switching between applications. Microsoft also is working to make Windows Phone 7 available from Sprint and Verizon in the first half of 2011, and more languages will become available later this year.
